BRITANNIA TUBULAR BRIDGE

BRITANNIA TUBULAR BRIDGE
   a railway bridge spanning the Menai Strait, designed by Robert Stephenson, and completed in 1850; consists of hollow tubes of wrought-iron plates riveted together, and took five years in erecting.
